Back in her high school years, Kate sang in a band with some guys from school. They rehearsed a lot, played to an audience a few times with great reviews from "our Mums and Dads", but mainly just had fun with it. In her last year of school, Kate received a big blow to her confidence when auditioning for some part, any part actually in the High School Production of Guys & Dolls and was told by the teacher running auditions that she basically couldn't sing. Needless to say, singing went to the bottom of the need to do list and sport came back up to the top. Many, many years down the track, by a twist of fate, Kate & Fred met. One year after their introduction, Kate had started singing again doing some backing vocals in bands with Fred & Scaff. A little while down the track Kate & Fred started a duo and started building their own reputation as reliable and fun musicians. Today, Kate uses 'The Arctic' as her personal performance outlet, she gets a huge buzz when playing the music of 'The Arctic' and the energy between the whole band is astounding. When asked the one thing she enjoys most about the band, her reply: " There's not one answer to that, it's the guys, it's the crowd, it's getting a reaction because of your songs, from people you don't know. Music is about emotion and enjoyment,I just have fun with it!"

English born, Graeme (rocket) Kent, Started playing folk guitar at the tender age of eleven. But after getting tangled in far to many notes and strings, Graeme thought there had to be a better way. Bass guitar that was it, one note at a time, one strings at a time, he could cope with that. Since joining a garage band at the age of thirteen, Graeme has played everything from punk, ska, new wave to even jazz, soul and Latin, You name it he's played it. Now in the new millennium, Graeme has hooked up with the guys from The Arctic. Giving energy and bottom end like only he can, doing what he does best. Graeme Kent "ROCKET" by name "ROCK IT" by nature!
